Allan Leslie Combs, PhD, is a consciousness researcher, neuropsychologist, author, and systems theorist at The California Institute of Integral Studies where he is the Director of the Center for Consciousness Studies. Dr. Combs is also Academic Advisor & President Emeritus of the Society for Consciousness Studies. He is interested in states and structures of consciousness and advanced post-conventional personality growth and development. Dr. Combs is the author of over 200 articles, chapters, and books on consciousness and the brain, including Conscious Explained Better: Towards an Integral Understanding of the Multifaceted Nature of Consciousness; The Radiance of Being: Understanding the Grand Integral Vision; Living the Integral Life.
My Detailed BioAllan Leslie Combs, PhD, is a consciousness researcher, neuropsychologist, author, and systems theorist at The California Institute of Integral Studies where he is Professor of Consciousness Studies and Director of the Center for Consciousness Studies. He also holds appointments at the Saybrook University and is Co-Director of the MA in Consciousness Studies at The Graduate Institute of Connecticut. He is Professor Emeritus at the University of North Carolina-Asheville.
Professor Combs is the author of over 200 articles, chapters, and books on consciousness and the brain, including Conscious Explained Better:Towards an Integral Understanding of the Multifaceted Nature of Consciousness; The Radiance of Being: Understanding the Grand Integral Vision; Living the Integral Live, winner of the best-book award of the Scientific and Medical Network of the UK, with a foreword by Ken Wilber; Synchronicity: Through the Eyes of Science, Myth, and the Trickster, with Mark Holland; and Thomas Berry, Dreamer of the Earth, edited with Ervin Laszlo; and others.
Dr. Combs is also Academic Advisor & President Emeritus of the Society for Consciousness Studies and co-founder of The Society for Chaos Theory in Psychology and the Life Sciences, a member of The General Evolution Research Group, and the one-hundred member Club of Budapest. He is Executive Editor of CONSCIOUSNESS: Ideas and Research for the Twenty First Century; Co-Editor of the Journal of Conscious Evolution; and serves on a variety of Editorial Boards including World Futures: The Journal of New Paradigm Research.
